Default Buying 250R soon, questions....

New guy here. A small blip about me...

This will be my first bike, I'm almost 25, more of a Harley guy, but they are out of my price range for one that I like. So used sport bike is in I was looking into either a 250R or the 650R, and after reading about both for the last two months or so, I've decided on the 250R. Even if I start to get board on it, The fact that I will trade it up next summer or the one after for sure makes me not want to spend the extra money on the 650+the extra insurance.

I have taken the MSF course and got my license already. Have some gloves, a old leather jacket that will do till I get something nicer, and just got a new helmet today. I am only looking at the '08/'09 models, as I won't ride anything I don't like and the look of the old one rubs me the wrong way. Most of the 250R info I've found is about the old ones though(I've read almost all of this)
http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/New_Riders

so here are my questions...

-does the new 250R have a fuel shutoff valve on the side?
-Will the maintenance how-to's on that site work for the '08/'09 model with the only diff being how to remove the sides?
-How hard is re-jetting the carbs? One of the bikes I found has a pipe on it and the guy said he re-jetted them. Is that something a shop should do?
-Are there any things I can look for that are good spots to point out and try and haggle a few hundred less to the seller?
-Has anyone heard of any problems/recalls on the new body style seance(sp?) it came out?

I think there was more I wanted to ask, but can't remember now.

Any tips are more than welcome, I plan on picking one up this weekend.

Thanks, Eric M

Part number -51023 in your favorite parts fiche

jetting is up to the riders knowledge and the locale.

It is always good to get a service manual with the bike. Some good info even if you may be trading "up" in the near future.
