Break in period...
? In regards to the break in period of the 250 it states that you should not go over 2k rpm's for the first 500 miles and not to exceed 4k for the next 500. My ? is about how fast can you go without going over 2k rpm's because im just curious to know if i can ride it to work when i first get it or will i have to ride it around on the street for the 1st 500.
Thanks,

the break-in is not over 4k for 1st 500 miles and not over 6k for next 500 miles. mine will go about 35 to 40 mph at 4k rpm. hope this helps --good luck

RE: Break in period...
After the first few runs on the new bike, it doesn't hurt to occasionally rev the engine higher than what kawasaki says. Just don't bog down the engine at wide open throttle. The small bursts of high revs does help the piston rings seat in the cylinders properly. DO NOT run the engine hard though.
I thought this site was really helpful in explaining how the break-in works: http://www.ntnoa.org/enginebreakin.htm
