You may want to talk to your dealer again as to most dealerships Kawasaki is releasing 1 2009 Ninja 250 near the end of August. I already have money down on the one coming in to my dealership (I live in Vermont and I think there is a little less demand here :-). You might be able to get your hands on a 2009 as early as August but I would call quickly as this is a Fax that Kawasaki sent to the dealers about a week and a half ago.

 

My dealer told me they were increasing the price of the 2009. Anyone hear anything? Rumors are that it will increase by $500.

 

I can confirm that! They will be increasing the MSRP to 4999 - I'm getting mine for 4080 OTD.

My dealer was only able to tell me what was included in the Fax that Kawasaki sent to all the dealerships but it included the increase in price - the lack of the green bikes for 2009. I asked him if he knew if they had made any other changes to the bike its self from what had changed in 09 and he didn't know but that they might have made a minor change to the suspension but that was probably about it.

 

My local dealer said no more 250z for the rest of the year...All gone....

 

I have a favor to ask of the group - If anyone hears of their dealer getting their 1 - 2009 Ninja 250 can you please respond to this post. I keep hearing these horror stories about people having a contract and then their dealer screwing them and I really dont want that to happen to me. I don't think it will but if someone hears of one coming in then I can start pressing my dealer and checking in to make sure that I get my Ninja cause I'm way to excited at this point to wait until October to get one now :-)

Two weeks ago I went in search of a 2008 250R and came up empty. I actually went to two local dealers and called three others. The story was the same. 2008 production was suspended and they didn't expect the 09s until sometime mid Oct. Some dealers even said that they didn't expect delivery of the 09s unitl Dec. A few dealers suggested that they would receive a pre-release the first week of Sept. Deposits were already being taken. We should know more after KMCs dealer conference (I think that its scheduled for mid Sept.).
