Default '08 250R engine swap

Hi guys. I saw the new 08 250 and it looks really good! So I was thinking of getting it and use it as a track bike. I'm currently riding an 07 GSX-R600 as both my daily and track bike. It's great on the track, however, I'm not that thrill with tracking my street bike. So I'm thinking of getting the new 250 then swapping in the 500cc motor in to get some more power. Can this be done?

Why not just buy a used ninja 500?

I really like how the new 250 looks. So if I would to get the 500, I would spend more money on a race kit.

Yes and no. Info from Kawasaki's website:
Suspension
- New 37mm telescopic front fork with firm settings contribute to the Ninja 250R’s smooth, stable handling and enhanced ride control
- Uni-Trak rear suspension compliments the rigid frame and re-tuned fork and provides great road holding ability
- Rear shock features 5-way adjustable preload, enabling ride height to be maintained whether riding solo or with a passenger

Getting a used 600cc would be pointless. To get one at the same price as a new 250, I would be paying for a bike that's about 4-5 years old, which will be heavier than my current GSXR600. A used 600cc would tip in close to 400lbs, wet. While a wet 250R would be at 360-370lbs. That extra 30-40lbs in weight adds up at the track.

The 600 would pull on the straight, but I would make it up in the corners. I was at a few track events, and this guy rode a 250cc (race prep) and was out running the 600's. He was an experienced rider, so his skills make up the the lack of power. Plus it just sounds way too cool as he tached it out.
