Unfortunately I think I am going to have to really tear the bike down and degrease damn near everything.

RE: Old Noob
Will do... I have put together a preliminary list of body panels and other misc parts (chain, clutch lever) that I will need to replace and will give those to the kawasaki dealer this afternoon and see what they come up with for me. Based upon those costs - it will help me determine how much $ I am willing to shell out for the bike itself. We shall see... is RK Gold still the bomb when it comes to chains?

RE: Old Noob
Expensive TLC at that....
went to the kawa dealer yesterday to get prices on factory painted/decaled parts:
lower left - 426
rear left - 303
main center - 671 (!!!!!)
front fender - 141
clutch lever - 41
front seat - 200
seat release mechanisms/lock - 85
That's not including a new RK Gold chain, sprocks or tune up.
OUCH!
I really want this thing to be as close to original in color as possible, that is the main reason I am looking at factory parts... plus I don't know how things are now, but aftermarket body panels didn't always fit up the best.
Help me obi wan kenobi

RE: Old Noob
ebay it my friend. Dam plastic is expensive. I want a new sharksniz tail for my ZX7 and it's 400.00. I have been saving while fixing the uppers and the lower. Just spread it out a little so it doesn’t hit you all at once.
