I'm a new member (2006 MS 1600 w/stuff) and an old rider too, although not as old as you. I'm 59 and have been riding all my life too. I agree with you that it is a little scarier out there than it used to be but I have memories ofclose callsfrom years past as well (trucks and motorcycles shouldn't try to occupy the same space at the same time EVER). Just ride defensively and safetly like you always have but keep riding. I used to think thatmany other drivers out there were just looking for a chance to "gettcha" and would if you gave them that chance. I've modified that logic now to justSOME of themwill "getcha" if you let them so I'm always looking out for #1 when on the road.
Ride safe, ride free, and keep the handlebars in front.
