New member, new heavily modded KLX250s
Hey all. I'm on my third Kawasaki, first was an '88 KX80, second was a '77 Z-1000 and now I'm on a '13 KLX250s! Big gap I know, believe it or not I was born in the mid-eighties so have only been riding since '96 (when I got the KX80).
I haven't had an off road bike since my '04 YZ250F. Decided I wanted a true dual sport bike and I like Kawasaki's so I went with the KLX. It was way underpowered stock so I have since done some modifications.
I also ended up riding it off road pretty much 100% of the time and most of that in tight woods/single track so I have been working on getting it to be a decent woods bike. Sadly I can't shed much more weight (down to mid 280's) but she is respectable now.
Here is what I have done somewhat in the right order...
Two Brothers Exhaust
Dyno-Jet Kit
Snorkel Off
Acerbis Bark-Busters
Chopped levers
Mirrors Off
Pro Taper 1 1/8 bars with adapters
Pillow Grips
Bill Blue 351cc kit
Re-Jet Carb
'Custom' Mirror to remain street legal
IMS Shift Lever
Turn Signals removed
Tail section removal kit
Knobbies w/ Ultra HD tubes and Beadlocks
And now I have a pretty sweet little ride.
Here are some recent pictures (minus the knobbies), Might have more tomorrow
I'm starting to like this bike but will probably still get a dedicated trail bike as I can't think of a way to shed another 30-50 lbs and could really use a lighter bike .
If you have any ideas, feel free to let me know!
