RE: New 2007 - Interesting things
Welcome to KF.
The tank holds 4.8 gallons I beleive about a half a gallon is unusable, meaning the engine under normal circumstances is unable to suck it out. If you stuck the nozzle into the fuel tank it will stop once it hits the nozzle, which will be less than full, slowly pull the nozzle out and look into the tank to ensure its full, but dont over fill it. As for the reserve, it is only reserve fuel, not a separate tank. There are two pipes going straight upinto the tank, one is shorter than the other, in the "on" position the fuel comes through the taller pipe until the fuel level gets lower than the pipe and the engine dies. When you switch to reserve it opens the lower pipe, and the engine runs on the fuel that the larger pipe can't reach and should give you about 25 miles to find a station. There is no second tank to fill up, andALWAYS remember to switch back to "on" when you fill up.
The break in period is a big debate, but long story short most people beleive that from time to time it is good to exceed the 4k limits to ensure proper seating, people just differ on how often and how much load to put on the engine when doing so. So no your engine is fine.
As for the hole, I have no idea, post some pics. [sm=Flahssssss.gif]
Be sure to check out the 500 section, lotta good knowledge in there. Enjoy the ride

On curved/dished plastic pieces, I think there has to be some sort of mold "center" to ensure uniformity of the injection. You'll see a hole similar to this on most curved/dished (parabolic curve) plastic. I may be wrong.
