live to ride, ride to survive
Afternoon gentlemen (and ladies),
I'm obviously new here, just picked up 2 1979 kz1000's yesterday. Being 21 i havent quite found my loyalties yet. After dealing with my mother for years, i finally went out and picked up my first bike on my own 5 years ago. a 2001 yz125. In my opinion a flawless bike, tore her down at the beginning of the summer, the cylinder just needed a quick honing, the bottom end was fine, and the piston was in fantastic condition. no complaints as of yet.
When i turned 18 i picked up my first street bike a 1978 suzuki gs750. being that I traded a paintball gun for her it was hard to say no. drove her around for a year and a half and then got hit by another driver. He was in the oncoming lane at a 3 way intersection and made a left. Bike was totalled and my knee was shattered. Needless to say, the riding itch never left me.
Found 2 kz 1000's for 1100 bucks last week and drove out to pick them up yesterday. they're going to need a little love and i'm sure ill be asking plenty of questions being that one is a shaft drive.

Welcome to the forums, I bet the crash didn't help things with mom huh? Yikes! Oh well, we all have to live for ourselves right? Glad to have you here. Looking forward to reading about the 2 bikes.
