Default LED signal replacement-1995 500 ninja ex EF33 flasher relay blows 10A fuse

1995 500EX Ninja
I'm replacing my signals with chinese LEDs. Front stock blinkers had 3 leads, blue for running lights, black yellow for ground, and either grey or green for 12V upon signal (from what I read). Back stock blinkers are just two leads.

New LED blinkers do not have 3 leads, only 2. I understand that to run front running lights via signals would mean tapping into headlight power.

Meantime, hooking up the new EF-33 flasher (3 prong) with or even without the LED lights connected causes the 10A fuse to blow. Also blew a few 15A and a 20A fuse. I've gone through quite a few fuses. The new relay says 25 max amp. The old one doesn't say, perhaps because it's thermal. Maybe it's incompatible.

I understand the LEDs take very little amperage, and I also have 4 resistors but decided to go the electronic flasher route.

I am considering usint 2 of the resistors I bought if I try to run front running lights. Has anyone done this... to get a dim solid LED signal which flashes to bright when the blinkers are on.

I put the stock flasher relay and turn signal on, and it still works, so I don't think anything melted. It seems like a 1A fuse would make more sense, since the LEDs take so very little. This has been a puzzler. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What did the stock flasher and fuses do with the aftermarket leds? A direct short or over resistered I guess would cause a blow. I am not sure if a two wire would meet your expectations. Maybe some lighting wizard will stop by soon. LOL

edit: I will be doing something similar but with the signals in the new mirrors on my EX500. Still on the drawing board as far as my existing fairing. (fell over, the stock turn signal busted the hell out of the fairing.) lol So no more side mounted turn signals on this build.

Not sure on all of that, but welcome to the forums.

The LEds with the stock flasher flashed really fast when I installed one, but didn't flash at all when I installed the rear. That's when I looked into resisters, then into an electronic flasher. I think maybe I got the wrong 3 prong flasher.
