RE: I LOST MY KEYS!!
I hate to say it, but no, the dealer won't be able to get a new key based on the VIN#. The only thing the dealer will be able to get you is a blank. Then you can take the blank to a locksmith and they will make you a new one. I'm sure there is one that will make you a key. I know this only because I lost the keys to mine right after I got it. Go to your local Kawasaki dealership, and tell them what the deal is. They'll be able to recommend a locksmith that will fix you right up. Then you just have to put your bike in the back of a buddy's truck and bring it up there. It cost me $60.

RE: I LOST MY KEYS!!
hey guys thanks for all of the help. The dealership couldnt do anything for me so I had to find a locksmith. It ended up costing me $90 which isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It felt so good to be able to hop back on my bike.

RE: I LOST MY KEYS!!
Losing your keys is right up there with losing your wallet. Don't freak; just retrace your steps, and you'll usually find them.
Welcome to the forum. Glad you're back in the saddle. ;) |
