Default Good to be here, got some questions.

I just bought a 1987 ZL-1000, where would I find out what parts it shares with what other models? All I need right now are front brake rotors but I just got it, I WILL eventually need something else.

I read that it was only made 1 year but I would imagine it was built with mostly parts that already existed on other aplications.

Any help would be great, links, advise, stories, or anything. thanks alot.

PS. Nice place you got here.

My whole life I always wondered who "thatdude" was, and now we know. Welcome Curt, you will find a great bunch here even if we don't have an answer for you......which is almost always me.[8D]

Thanks all, I hope someone can point me in the right direction to find answers.
sorry, I dont have any pics yet, I have one of me in a 2 piece at the beach but you dont want that on here.

I have been using this screen name for years on hockey related forums. Leo (from that 70's show) refers to me regularly.

My 1st bike was a yam 125 then honda elsinor 250. The first street bike I had was a yam 650 maxim, then a 700 maxim, then I finally got something with some power, 84 honda V65 Magna.
Its been a few years since I had a bike and it was time to get another one. My first choice was a V-Max but I couldnt find one for a reasonable price that was even close to where I live.
I found this bike and here we go.

Welcome to the KF family. In the army, we're always told "Don't be thatdude" so now I know who you are.

The VMax is verybadass, thats why I want one. It will be my next bike.
I have noticed that my ZL1000 is kinda a pig when you get a passenger. Mealone on it...she scoots right along.Very quick 0-70 but it kinda lays over abitfrom 70-120 or so. They re-cammed the ninja motor to get some low end out of it and it shows. The powerband stops at about 9 grand (redline is 10.5).

Good to be here, thatdude
