The KX250F 6 second rule
2013 KX250F (KX250ZDF) 13hrs on bike
Welcome all, I am running into an odd issue with this bike, here is an overview:
- Starts and runs perfect - start on first or second kick, Idles great, revs great. goes through the gears great, but with a catch.
- Dies after exactly 6 seconds - regardless of running conditions, fuel, load, rpm, etc. the bike will cut off in the same fashion as pressing the kill switch. (fuel cut or spark cut)
- Running conditions do not change this - holding high load or rpms does not change the time interval.
for basics:
- sparkplug changed - gapped to spec (0.9mm)
- tipover sensor changed, tested within spec
-
I have seen quite a few rider lately having issues regarding their sparkplug, many solve their pretty quickly but for those who don't this thread may be useful
its a few months out before this bike will be under the knife, if anyone has a recommendations I'm curious to see what it could be, hopefully something more thought provoking than the ecu just being on the fritz.
cheers!
