Grip Glue

Default Grip Glue

Has anybody ever heard of using hair spray instead of grip glue? Some how my local shop has been out of grip glue for a week andsomeone there told me hairspray would work.

hahaha, reminds me of the '70's now. hairspray lubes the grips for a short time before it bonds.

Hairspray does work as long as it doesn't get wet. It is water salable (or however you spell it)so, when you get a tarein your grip or if you get water in from washing it could loosen it right up. Just use the glue, it's made for it.

check that thread out.... lots of good ideas... and if hairspray is water soluable.... not good on a dirt bike, i go through water alot.....

I've always used hairspray. Spray some on the inside of the grip, slide the grip on, twist it some to spread hairspray all over handllebar, and let it set overnight.

The best stuff I have used to date (and I've tried lots of stuff) is superglue! dump a whole tube in each grip give it about 15 minutes (if that) and they will not move.

hahahaha, Just hope you do not replace grips often.

Iknow not alot of people are strong believers in this but gasoline works great, dont use to much, i will eat through your grip, just swish a little in the grip, slip it on, and let it set in the sun, the gas evaporates, and the grip is pretty much vaccum sealed onto the bars, never slipped on me
