I have a engine noise on the KLX i just bought and it runs good but the noise I cant stand. I have tighten the cam tensioner and it is still there. It does not sound like a rod to me. It sounds like it is in the top end. I found a video on youtube of a bike that makes the same sound.

tell me what you thing it is before I start throwing money at it.

I do not have speakers on this puter, but if you have checked the CCT already, have you checked the valve adjustments yet? Not sure on how many miles you may have, but I prefer to adjust after break in on most rides, then go from there. Also, out of tolerance valve adjustments will cause a harder starting ride most of the time as well.
