Dazjr, you said that this tire will flip you over offroad if not careful, did you mean that it would kick out or in a sense that you would wheelie over?
Yea, I meant wheelie over.

I have only seen the C858 rear tire. I don't know what the front looks like, other than in pictures. It doesn't look like it is as aggressive as the rear tire. It may not be much different than the stock front tire. I will be interested in seeing what it looks like on your bike and what your opinion of it is.

I think its interesting that some places list the C858 as metric and others as standard. When I bought my tire from the local shop it was a 4.60-18 and the larger ones is a 5.10-18. Its actually stamped on the side of mine 4.60-18.

My tube (stock) says 4.60-18 on it, I take it I would need a bigger tube if I get a 5.10-18 later?

I have the same question. Anyone want to weigh in?

How is the C858 front tire in sand I have 6000 miles on the stock tires and it is time for a new one.

cmon6969, I don't have personal experience on this, but there are several other posts on this board that praise the C858 in the sand. In fact, I had to end up posting a specific question about it's dirt & mud performance to get any input on the tire other than road & sand. Marty on this board rides a lot of sand in FL and he says that many of his cohorts run the C858.

As an aside, I think you win the record for most miles on the stock tires. I have not heard anyone that even got close to 6000 miles. I have right at 1000 on mine and I would guess that I have about 1/2 or a little more of my tread left. I will probably try to squeeze another 1200 or 1300 out of mine.

I don't know about the front tire, but the rear tire works good. (Sorry the picture isn't very clear. It was a cell phone pic.) That's me on the right sitting on Buttercup, the biggest dune in the park. Rear tire- C858. That's in Wanoka, Oklahoma, in the Little Sahara Sand Dunes.

We all are waiting on cwgoff to order his tires so he can take some pictures and show us what they look like and tell us how they work in sand.

Well, if DennisKirk.com had the 5.10s in stock then I would have ordered it yesterday. I am still looking for the best deal on the 5.10 for the back and the 3.0 on the front. As for the sand report once I get them, I will have to find a sandbox somewhere 'cause there is not a lot of sand to play with in this part of God's Country.

Sorry. Take it up with the Big Guy.

I just have 6000 miles on the front tire. I swiched the rear tire at 4000 for a 606 I might leave that on and put a C858 on the front. Or which would be be beather as a front The kenda 270 or the C858 as a front tire.

Thank you
