Anyone else run any ice studs? This will be my first time. A buddy was nice enough to hook me up with a thousand of them, hoping to try them out next week sometime..

Well, they're mainly for the snow.. But when it snows in the NE there's usually a sheet of ice under it or on top of it... So... Hoping they work out

I have a couple buddies with the ice spikes as well, so it should be a good time.

Nah, will stay local with these.. My local forests have lakes and stuff, plus when the roads get covered should be fun.

all i can say is wow. you planing on trucking to the trails then riding, i dont think that would be that safe on the street, once you hit pavement anyways.

No, I will be riding to the areas mostly. The forest entrance is 3m away and in a snowstorm they don't plow for a while.. I'll see how it is.. If it's sketchy I'll truck it to a big lake and play.

I've run them (not on the klx). You don't want them on the front unless it all ice and snow, front end will slide off anything hard like rocks or pavement. On the back they WILL get tossed, so careful who is behind you. Even if you just playing around in the snow you'd be surprised how hard they can hit the fender (or leg) when your spinning the tire fast. have fun.

I don't know if you've run sheet metal screws in your tires before or not, but you won't like the results on anything but ice. They're no better than a regular knobbie in snow and on pavement, dirt, and rocks they are very sketchy not to mention those surfaces will either tear the screws out of the tire or wear/dull the edges so they won't hook up on the ice either.
