My local power sports had a free dyno shoot out. When I left I was the only "dirt bike" on the board. But....
24.93HP with 400+ miles on the odo. @ 45deg outside.

By adding an aftermarket exhaust, power commander and opening the airbox, they increased theHP from 25in stock state to 30hp! You say youdon't expect todo many mods, Tony, but wouldn't that be tempting (albeita bitexpensive)? [8D]

That's racebike horsepower in a very durable machine. Can't beat that imo. Too bad it's so tall, more expensive, lacks a tach, too radical of styling (for me) and only available in blue.

I don't like the rear subframe tubes that run the length from top to bottom and aren't hidden. Don't like the shroud/tank configuration and the headlight seems dated. The KLX pushes all my buttons and it's killer, near idle bottom end power is priceless.

Yes, I talked with Garland. The bike sold to a Paulsbo man Saturday morning. Sorry Garland.
Thanks again for the help Deej.
ps. Garland calls you Derick. [sm=hiya.gif]

NICE!!!! Tony did Garland get a hold of you? I think even though your bike has a lot of miles (twice as many as mine) I told him that he would not find a better deal. He lives in Port Angeles. I hope you guys can work out a deal, it would be nice to keep the bike local and with someone I know.

I didn't know you were such a joker... You're kidding right? Bottom end power?

If '09 ever rides a 300/331 he will understand a better definition of "bottom end". [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Hey Tony, what kind of vibe did you get from the guy who bought the KLX? Is he a true DS guy? Any contact information, so you can invite him to ride with us sometime?

RE: WR250R Report-update
I'm sure the 300/331/340 kits would have killer low-end. I'd love to ride one.
I saw my first WR250R yesterday. I didn't sit on it simply because I couldn't get my leg over it. I swear the thing sat higher than the YZF MXers it was sitting by. That is a BIG bike, why is it so tall I will never know. It is friggin huge. I knew I didn't care for the tank/shroud design- now I know why. The shrouds are part of the tank. It makes it look kind of wide at that point. It is a nice bike, but I would never trade my '09 for one. I'd always feel like I was going to tip over. Plus the styling, while subjective, to me is somewhat questionable with it's radical rear-end and tankcoupled with the old '80's style headlight.
