Won't go in gear

Won't go in gear
So the other we were riding pretty hard.
While negotiating a relatively hard hill with large rocks on it I crashed pretty hard. The result was a sore knee, a little cracked plastic and my shifter bent up towards the sky.
We managed to bend the shifter back a little bit, but when I tried to ride it was stuck in neutral. It will not shift up or down into any gear.
Any thoughts as to what may have happened or why and any remedies?
Thanks in advance for any and all info.

You have damaged the ratchet mechanism that the shift shaft attaches to. This should point you in the right direction- https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ar-gone-34237/

You didn't mention what bike you have so I will assume it's a KLX 250 or 300. There is an alignment dowel behind the shift star that may have sheared.
