Winter warm up ride - VIDEO
#11
Deej....settle down. I don't want this thing going viral.
Thanks for all the kudos though. Riding and taking videos is a lot like cutting firewood....it warms you twice. Once when you ride and once again when you watch the video.
EPTACULARISTICAL ....is that like some kind of Oscar or Academy award vernacular?
As for the hitting the tree thing, it took me 30 minutes of practice jamming to my mp3 player and hitting that tree over and over again to get the timing just right. LOL...actually there was some good ol' luck and a little cutting & trimmng of the video to get it to work out. It does add a certain dramatic flare to the vid.
Nobrakes....long time no see or hear. Hope you're doing well and that you have seen the light and are painting all your bikes lime green again :-)
As a side note, I was fortunate to go for a nice ride in Phoenix a few weeks back. I'll post some pictures in another thread. BEWARE....there is a very odd ORANGE tint to alot of the photos. Must have been my new camera.

kmac: Very nicely done! You posted...Deej narrated the intrigue. Love the tree hit and the music is spot on. Thanks. Watching a good ride is the next best thing...
Have you posted vid of this place before? Seems familiar...

IDRIDR....about a year ago I posted another video made on our farm. Some of the same scenery but set to some country & western tunes by Brooks and Dunn. Both are in the winter late in the afternoon. I like the shadows that show up nice and big riding with me:
Any Day Is A Good Day to Ride on Vimeo
Nobrakes and his son came to the farm a year or two ago and rode with me. I didn't have my Gopro at the time so I used a handheld digicam to record some footage. I posted a short video of Nobrakes ripping around the haybales:
Nobrakes & NbJr try out Kmac250's Hayfield on Vimeo
The trails are pretty mild and the pastures are wide open but it's always available and it's where I got my start a long, long, long time ago in the early '70s. And as you can see, it still presents some challenges.

I did indeed go get the tabs for the KLX yesterday and what did I do? I jumped on the ST 1300 and went for a ride..WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!!! It was just such a nice day, and I need to break in the new tires on it. But I promise a KLX ride report soon! (hmmm maybe I can recycle an old report from a couple of years ago.....) Yeah that's the ticket... whoops was that out loud? LOL

Kmac, thanks again for posting that video and the one from several years ago. Seems like so long ago. Those bring back some good memories. Unfortunately, riding didn't really capture NBJr's imagination like I thought it would and he doesn't ride any more and the 200 2-stroke he was riding has been sold. I hate that, I love riding and just getting out there and feeling the wind, I can't imagine anyone that has done it or tried it, ever deciding to not do it. Hopefully he will come back around to it at some point.
If you want to ride some time, shoot me an e-mail. Several of us are heading to Outback this weekend. The weather is looking great. It would be great to hook up again, and a good crew of guys are there pretty much every Sunday. We are a laid back group, most over 40. Hell, I guess most are over 50 actually, lol. Let me know ... it would be great to have you.

Deej....glad to hear you made the KLX legal again. Now go out and ride and post some EPTACULARISTICAL reports!
Nobrakes....thanks for the offer. I will definitely try to make a weekend happen. Next couple of months are full between work and personal stuff but we'll do it. BTW, you'll have to add another age group to the two you listed since I moved past both of those last year.
