While I'm on a roll. Next winter mod was the HT rear rack. Have the Carabou cases on my Uly and bought the Happy Trails SU rack. The rack installion was NOT plug and play, they were a pain in the ***. Much bending and pulling to get them installed. Once on the KLX they are very sturdy.

Coming soon, the rear top rack. Why all the luggage you ask? We cornerwork for motorcycle road races and have to carry a ton of poop to our corners. KLX does Bike Week Daytona in a few weeks.

Nice set up there GS . the KLX is such an adaptable bike.

Regarding the map on the motorhome , it looks like GS is avoiding TNC, which I think a lot of people try to do. hahahahha

gs, of course we're just messing with you on the camper deal. I'm curious about your comment of the new spring being more than two inches taller. From the pic it looks like a lot less than that. Is the pic just that skewed in perspective? The blue spring looks like a Race Tech for a KLX300 in the length comparison. I used a KLX300 spring on my '06, and it fit fine with the proper sag. You might look at the clearance between the air boot clamp and the preload adjuster collars. Using the taller 300 spring on mine, it was close, but the proper sag adjustment put those collars just below the contact with the airboot clamp.

Hey, I just thought of this - he said, while stealing the thread - I am doing a DRz 400 shock on my 650, anyone know the chances of the spring from the DRz fitting the 250? It is likely to be a higher rate spring since it was on a heavier bike. Any thoughts or should I return the thread?

Go to Eibach springs home page. Their listing of fork and shock springs give most all models and types for most bikes. They also list the exact dimensions for each spring so you can tell if the springs will interchange.

Thanks.

Oddly enough the replacement spring I got, a 500# rate, came from a sprint car racer. He got a spring sponsorship and sold his old springs - $10. I think it was like 2-1/2" ID and 10" long. the DRz was 10-1/2" long, the right ID and is a bit short, but that is what Eibach and others carry for the DRz.

Last winter mod, stole the Carabou top case from the Harley. KLX is now loaded and ready for Bike Week, Daytona.

I dunno, I'm still wondering who's gonna tell me how to put one of these in my 250s?

Just registered with me the problem with this picture...

Aren't you guys supposed to strap a tent and all kinds of crap on that KLX to make the whole RV thing redundant and unneeded?

That happened already didn't it? I hear the guy who makes them does good work. Worthwhile upgrade over stock.
