Default Will not having a chain guard still pass inspection?

Looking to get my bike inspected as soon as my new tires come and was wondering - should I bother attaching my chain guard that came with the bike or will it pass inspection without one?

This probably varies from state to state and since you haven't shown your location in the upper right hand portion of your post. . . who knows? Put your chainguard on, get it inspected, then remove it. . . problem solved!

Seriously, its two 8mm bolts. Better safe than sorry. My truck failed once, that was a pain.

Inspection? What's that? I guess I should really get mine done since it's been about 2 years since I bought my KLX.

gerrynolan,
gwalleye is referring to a state vehicle safety inspection, without which one cannot get one's bike licensed!

10-4. It's required here in NC too. I just didn't realize it until about 2 months ago and decided not to bother. I guess I should stop wheelying past the Po-Po's.

No inspection down here, unless you get yellow stickered! LOL
Then it's on with all the OE safety crap and a trip to the pits. Never happened to me. More common for car drivers to get stickered.

Really depends on the inspection center. Some will just check the basics and pass you. Some can be a pain and try to fail you for something stupid.

Down here they just check tail light, brakelight, high/low beam, horn and tires.
