Will a new 15t sprocket improve the speedometer accuracy?
I was reading some older posts about the inaccuracy of the speedometer. What caught my attention was one guy who put on a 1-tooth larger front sprocket on a ZX9R and that improved the speedometer accuracy.
I'm planning on switching out my 14t for a 15t. Has anyone noticed improved accuracy after doing the same?

It makes a difference on my CB919, as the speed is read from the transmission. As stated before me, it's off the front wheel on our bikes. An extra tall front tire does make a difference on ours, though...

i switched to 15t front and switch back to stock...my speed is off by -2 mph at high speeds of about 75 mph to 85 mph....(compared to my gps speedo)...but, i'm riding a 2009 klx250sf....sm wheels....maybe my bike is just off by -2 mph if sprockets don't make a difference....i know the gps speedo is accurate...

Changing sprocket size will not help, as the speedometer works by monitoring the RPMs of the front wheel.
A taller front tire will slow down the wheels RPMs, but it would have to have a circumference 10% greater than stock. I doubt you could find one that big.
If you want an accurate speedometer, I would reccommend the 12oclocklabs calibrator for about $70.00.

Try putting the rear wheel on the front, that should change it a little. Looking forward to your solution as my speedo is off also.
I was thinking of taking the cover off the speedo & just rotating the needle a little also.
