why I bought the KLX
This is my 6yr old son Kyle, he will be 7 this fathers day...yup he was born on June 16, 2000...y2k baby
Anyway, we got him a CRF50 for christmas so I told the wife I had to have a bike too to play follow the leader on the trails....long story short I bought the KLX250 and love it. He is still in the learning stages thats why the trainers are on but he loves riding and we cant wait till the weather settles so we can hit the trails...lol

Aint that the BEST!!!!
I just got my 7 year old a pw50 with training wheels and he too loves it..................
My backyard is destroyed but well worth it.
I got started a little late in life with the dirtbikes ( 3 months ago) and I figure I love it so much I mind as well get my son involved so we can enjoy it together rather than me going off without him to ride.
Family Fun.............if only I can gather the courage to let my wife try the KLX[&:]........
GOOD STUFF!!

me too. my daughter got her JR50 when she was only five. she took off on it as soon as we got it unloaded. she learned to ride a bicycle without training wheels when she was 4 so we didn't ever have them. she's now 7 and beggin for a faster bike, we're looking at the KLX 110. adults can ride that too.

RE: why I bought the KLX
I did the exact same thing. We got my son a KDX50 in 2003 when he was just 2 and a half with training wheels, they came off when he was four. He is quickly outgrowing the KDX, but is just a touch too short this year for a KLX110. So, this past week I just upgraded his tires to some "real" MX style tires, the stockers sucked, new gearing for more get up and go, had two inches of foam put into the seat for more room, put the suspension in the "high" position and adjusted the automatic clutch to engage a lot lower in the RPM range. This should hold him over this summer and by Christmas perhaps Santa will bring that 110.
Dad had to convince mom he needed a dirt bike too. She tried to get me to sell the Ducati first, ha ha ha, yeah right.

Heres mine. The kids on the bikes are mine, the girl on the four wheeler is a friend they made while tearing up grampa's place. My Daughter started at 5 and she will be getting the KLX110 as soon as she can touch. Right now she rides a 50cc 2-stroke we got off e-bay. It is scary fast and has flipped every kid that tries to ride it. It looks REAL rough now.I bought my Son a KLX125L and he liked it for a few months, my wife and I beat up on it now. I was sure hoping my Son would take to bikes, he didn't like it, but the wife and Daughterdid. Go figure
