Default Who's Running Front Rim Locks?

I have one installed in back, because the back tire gets the power. But do I need one in front as well? I did some searching and it seems like some fore-go the front due to reasons I found as - not as critical as the back - to - throwing the front wheel out of balance.

I doubt I'm going to run much below 16 psi in the front, so I'm thinking of leaving the front alone without a rim lock. Bad Idea or no big deal?

I run one on both front and back. I run 12-14 psi in both .. I have removable spoke weights on to balance the wheels. If you are riding off-road much, I would do both wheels. Dan

Your front break will put more torque on the front wheel than the rear wheel can even dream about. If your going to have only one, put it on the front!

I run them front and back. Lower air pressure off-road is the way to go. Like Dan, I run from 10-14psi. I used stick on weights 180º from the rim-lock. Not perfect but good enough for a dirt bike.
Been thinking about swapping the front for a tubliss set-up for better balance of the wheel.
One good panic stop might be enough to spin the front tire and rip the valve stem off.

I am. Pulled the stem out of a brand new heavy duty tube with new tire on front running about 12-13 psi. No problems since getting a rim lock and doing a rough balance with stick-on lead weights.

Or, get two rim locks and install 180-degrees apart to balance.

Front and rear for me too, tape weights to balance. Why on earth not? Don't cheap out here. When you get a pinch flat on the front and need to ride 40 more miles, you will be glad that something is keeping the front tire on the rim and in the right place on the rim.

I run both. I just threw some spoke weights on to counter balance them.

You do not need a rim lock on either wheel unless you are airing down to 12 psi or lower AND hitting the trails hard.
