who can beat this for a daily commute
so as i become more familure with my bike and route to work i found my self in an interesting position this morning.
i come up to the end of the paved road down shift twice and hear medium machine gun fire. i turn onto the dirt road and bam a smoke grenade was going off about 50 meters off the road. now i hear small arms fire and the machinegun fire getting faster. i down shift one more time grab all the throttle there is and speed through. once clear of the battle zoneI slow up for a slow wide turn and i notice 2 m16's pointing down the road in my direction. i look through the turn and see two hummers parked in the middle of the road. i slow up so i wont hit anybody comming around the hummers grab the cluth and rev it a few times in case someone is about to jump out and didnt see or hear me. once clear i kinda smile and take off. i think to myself only on a Marine Corps Base lol
of course all ammo was blanks. I bet everybody was just as amused as i was.

Tucaz,
Got to admit that "medium machine gun fire" is not generally part of my life unless I'm watching the History Channel. Living in a mostly rural area the sound of small arms fire doesn't disturb me in the least, but I hope I never encounter it on a ride....
Hey, at least your commute is not boring. Oh, and next time - pictures!

That is an amazing commute. Since I work at an Air Force Base, I may have jets blast over head just above 100ft. Onecommute, a B1 afterburn blasted me for its take off. You can really feel the heat and rumble of those planes on take-off.

had it been my students we would have blocked the road with the hummers and pulled that crazy *** off the bike lol but thats just me. plenty of junior officers have made the mistake of comming out to check on us and i tell the students everyone is considered hostile till i say otherwise. they kinda get confused wondering why they were thrown to the deck and searched but in the end they all say they preffer that over being able to just walk up and not be challenged.
once i get over the pure enjoyment of getting to work on 2 wheels and through the dirt at that i can slow down and take some pics.
