I was at work (Texaco) in B'ham. There was only a radio. I didn't see any video until I got home. Still couldn't beleive it was real even after listning all day to the radio and talking to customers.

I was camping close to Gran Lake in Colorado. And all i remember is that my dad and uncle were fratically moving and trying to get to a gas station because we saw all of it on the news. it was silent for a long time in that cabin. No one got any sleep. i will never froget that day. it really hurts because my dad works for the airline business!

I was at home half watching the TV waiting for a particular program to watch.
Then I saw a picture of the WTC on fire.
I wasn't listening and I thought that it was a scene from a movie or something.
Then I saw a presenter of a late night news program come on and I thought that's odd. He's not on until much later. (it was night here)
I turned up the volume and realised it was real.
Flicked through all our channels and it was on them all.
They were all taking feeds from NBC, ABC, BBC or CNN.
Then the second plane hit.
I stayed up all night watching. Stunned.
I couldn't get my head around it. It was too big.
Those images were/are haunting.
I knew the world had changed.
It wasn't happening in my country but it felt very close.
My parents remember where they were when Kennedy died.
I will always remember 9/11.

RE: Where were you 9-11-01
I was off from work and on the computer and my wife suddenly called me to watch the tv. We were watching in total amazment when right before our eyes on live tv, the second plane hit the second tower. I knew right then that it was terrorist. And I remember thinking, see, we let this dog, bin laden get away with way too much, without any consquences. I will never forget the feeling I had. At the time I was living in Middletown, NY, around 65 miles north of the city, and I remember thinking that this just occured a few miles south of me. We all must never forget this occurence. We are at war with islamic extremist that want to annielate us.

RE: Where were you 9-11-01
I was getting ready to fly into manhatten for a pick up in the east river. My sister called just after I got a weather brief from flight service (who hadn't gotten word yet) to see if I was flying already. Needless to say that flight was cancelled and almost all of them after that. The company I work for barely managed to survive the shutdown of our airspace. The loss of life and the towers themselves was only the beginning of the strains placed on our economy and our freedom.
