Default Where O Where is a fuel tank worth squat??

Without calling into question the inelajense of the engenears (choo choo!!) that decided to put such a puny tank on a bike designed to ride into the gasless boonies then ride around through the gasless boonies, then ride from the gasless boonies back home, my question is.

WHERE CAN I FIND A BIGGER FUEL TANK FOR MY 2006 KLX????

C'mon. Gimme 3 good gallons with enough reserve to get to the top of the hill and coast home.

Shrouds?? I don't need no stinkin' shrouds!

Kaw Green? I don't need no stinkin' Kaw green.

OPAQUE WOULD ROCK MY WORLD cause I can SEE my gas.

So where does a guy or even a dingy rowing tuna chaser, find a 3 gallon, or so, tank that will FIT (mods acceptable) a 2006 KLX 250??

Enquiring riders on foot carrying a milk jug to the nearest gas station want to know!

IMS, Clarke, Acerbis.
Search this forum for more info on gas tanks than you could possibly need.

Default I'm diggin' the Clarke

Excellent build, fit, and service. There are bigger tanks, but I wanted to be able to get to the choke and not jury-rig the fit. I can go about 120 miles before reserve, and on the BFN rides I take a large MSR fuel bottle along just in case... absolutley no problems at all!

acerbis's kawi green is opaque. also drains 3.2 gallons and fits great.

IMS makes a tank that holds 3.2gals. And Acerbis makes one that holds 3.6gals.

You could always carry extra fuel in a bottle (not soda bottles, thou some have done it). Or get a fuel can carrier for the rear rack.

Can't agree here.
I have fitted 2 Clarke tanks to 2 klx's and the fit both times was, IMO, not good. But it's probably the easiest install.
The IMS has some issue with the cooling fan but it's been done many times quite successfully.
Good info here but the pics have gone. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_22626/tm.htm
The Acerbis is slightly bizarre as the fuel in the wings is not usable unless you rig up some sort of pump.

IMO that is just poor, lazy design work.
But it does hold the most fuel.

I did the Clarke install.
Whilst I'm not unhappy with it, I would look at the IMS a bit more closely next time around. Bit more work for a bit more fuel.

There's always a market for the company that boasts the most,....even if for the extra price you don't get anything useful. It's the biggest!!!!

Default tank

I fitted the ims for the klx300, takes a bit of work but not to bad. If you wan't fan or fans I found some computer surplus ones real cheap, don't even know if you really need one.
