After I lost my plate for the third time I made this.

How it looks together.

I don't know about Kali. but in Wa. we have to have a clear light above the plate.

Usually has to be horizontal (readable left to right, not down to up) and very close to straight on (not angled, that is: plumb). Kalifornia will no doubt have some very specific language.

Turnsleft- that is awesome! Make one for me? Seriously, post how you made that and post a side view pic please. I like the stock tail light but want to lose the "mullet".

I made it out of 3/16. Three bends and three 6mm bolts with ny~locks. It bolts up to the cross piece.

If I was to make another one I would make the bottom as wide as the plate.

These help any?

PM sent.

TL: I like that!

I think its pretty uniform in the US that the plate needs to be lit with a lamp. I've seen lots of Hardlys in ID with vertical plates, although it may not be legal. My riding buddies have riveted plates to their muffler and to rear fenders. Not legal, I'm sure, but no tickets yet!

I would be careful about beefing up the plate holder like that. in the event of a crash a big strong piece of steel like that bolted to the subframe may cause bad things to happen.
