Default Where did the power go?

After jetting the carb and putting the header on I seem to have lost all the power! The carb is:
128 main
needle on the 2nd slot
Kouba fuel screw 2 turns out.

I first jetted the carb and rode it and it pulled great through all the gears up to red line. Today I put the header on and it seems to have lost all throttle response. Any idea's? Could having the diapraghm exposed to long and maybe it expanding cause this? I'm reaching......

Do you still have the stock airbox snorkel installed? "Today I put the header on..." What do you mean by that? Were you running it without a header on the first run after re-jetting?

the stock header is smaller in diameter and gives a bit more throttle response because of the back pressure it creates. the fmf header is larger in diameter and flows more air so you lose some of that back pressure. i thinkthat's what your feeling.

I don't think it's just some loss of back pressure. It barely pulls at all in any gear and it revs completely different than before. A lot slower......basically there is little to no throttle response. Any ideas?

no not really but i'd put the stock header back on and see what happens. if it's still not pulling i'd then go to the carb to see if everything is fine in there. i'd double check everything i did just to be sure nothing came loose or fell out. sounds far fetched but it could happen.

When I installed my FMF system my bike ran noticably better across the entire RPM scale.
Are you still using the stock snorkel? (as Dean asked).
Is there an obstruction in the header?

I'd bet you got the needle setting F'up ....been there done that..lol. Check your washer/clip position....a tiny bit makes a HUGE difference....especially if the washer is on the wrong side ofda clip..

he said that it ran fine with the stock header though. does the fmf header flow so much air that his needle postion would work with one header and not the other??
