When to upgrade my 09 klx250s

Congrats! You won't be disapointed! Welcome to the family too!
I got my the same bike in the end of April and I have 1200 km on it. I would at least wait 800km before putting mods such as a jet. As for breaking the bike in, I always wondered the same thing. I was always told especially 2 strokes, you break them in the 45 mins. Rather this is true or not, I'm not a hundred percent sure. But for 4 strokes I got two different stories all the time. One person would say follow your owners manual orders say ride it like you would all the time. I just road the bike like I would which involved bringing the RPM's pretty high some times lol
To this day I have no problems and all smiles all around when riding

Fortunately for my I found the Mototune article before I rode my bike and used that way. 12,400 miles later its still running perfect.

I have read that site over twice now and it seems very legit. I just dont quite know what it is asking of me, am I supposed to twist the throttle till the rpm's get close to the red zone and then break very hard and do that many times through ALL the gears? Thank you very much for your help.
