Wheel bearing install gone bad....Front hub needed.

I use all ballz as well.

I used to fill the hub with grease in the past until sealed bearings were available. lol

where are the pics of the process and of any damage?

Didnt have my camera, was over my dads garage, I also changed the oil, rotated tires, checked brakes, changed front and rear differential oil and transfer case fluid, checked everything under the hood of my new truck, so it was a busy day, oh and changed my aunts oil.

I have a front wheel hanging out in my building. I had installed kx250 forks and kx wheel. The wheel is of 06 KLX . Have not decided what to do with that wheel. I have thought of installing 6003-2RS bearing and adapt for KX forks along with making speedo drive and spacers work but if you needed make offer.

Interesting. I've seen that sometimes. I'd not have expected the front wheel bearings on the KLX to be open to the inside. Double sealed and packed full of grease it better.

BTW if you buy bearings at a bearing supply watch out that you're not getting shielded bearings. Shields are steel plates with no rubber overmold or seals, so there's a gap between the inner race and shield that can let water in. Shields are also not removable without destroying them. So you get the bearing number like 6202 and then ask for "double sealed." Sometimes you can get shielded bearings, pop the shields off, and reuse the seals from the former bearings. Sometimes the seals fit well, sometimes not.

Another tip to help with open-sided or even double sealed bearings. If you have the bearings out and everything in there cleaned, coat the inside of the hub and the bearing spacer with grease. That way, if water ever does make it in there, the grease stops the corrosion process from creating abrasive iron or aluminum oxide particles that migrate around and into the open side of the bearings.

There's really no need to fill the space in there with grease. Coating stuff is good enough.
