Give that kid a S&W 460 Mag. Nothing better says I care when that baby goes off and everyone looks right at you.

RE: Whatever happened to BB guns?
agreed.. an Uzi is a bit much..
Touchy subject for sure. My opinion is... would I put any gun in my 9 year olds (if I had one)???? NO. Do I think you're a little strange for putting one in your 9 year olds hands??? YES. Would I ever do anything about it??? No, it is your right to do it. The kid will either turn out to be very informed about firearms and a very responsible person or maybe he will show one of his friends a gun and accidentaly shoot him in the head. Maybe he will go crazy in high school and shoot 20 people or in college and shoot 30 people or go to a mall and shoot 12 people. Maybe he will become president.
Now, a whole different situation. Dad taught junior how to shoot his gun, Dad told his son if he was ever by himself and heard someone breaking into the house, he had permission to use the rifle to protect himself. Now how surprising is it, not long afterward, the kid shoots through a window and kills a utility worker who was trying to read a meter on the side of the house.
By the way, I own 2 guns, and I never touched a real gun until I was 16, and my brother is the one who put the first one in my hand.

I have a S&W 460 Mag. myself. The only thing better than everyone looking at you after you fire is the look on their face when you actually hit the 200yd. gong off-hand!

RE: Whatever happened to BB guns?
Studies show that firearms are use 2 million times per year for protection, and that the presense of a firearm, WITHOUT a shot being fired prevents crime in many instances. Shooting can usually be justified only when threat of life, limb,or, in some cases property. Jr could grow up to be college student. " College student John Erickson parked his scooter and was walking toward his house when a pit bull charged him in an unprovoked attack. “All of a sudden the dog grabbed my leg from behind,” he recalls. He swung his helmet at the dog, temporarily halting the assault but the dog recommenced the onslaught. Erickson, a concealed-carry permit holder, was forced to draw his 9 mm pistol and shoot the delinquent animal. His mother, Lyn, used to oppose her son’s firearm ownership, but after the incident she noted, “Now I’m saying, ‘I’m just so thankful he had a gun.’ I’m just so thankful because what would you do?” (Daily Herald, Provo, UT, 09/18/07) Dad teaches jr. how to drive properly jr. goes crazy runs down a bunch of shoppers at mall, listening to college choir that jr.also hits. Dads fault? Cars fault? or Jr's fault?

Better for that kid to learn about that weapon from his father, than from "Pookie" around the corner. Maybe he'll actually hit the right target during the driveby.
J/K
I think its a bit much in full auto. Im all for teaching about firearms, and the proper ways to use them responsibility, then once done properly clear them, secure , and double secure them.
