my wife got upset when I told her I didn't need anything...so her and my daughter went out and bought me an xbox 360 with the wireless setup and COD2...they also picked out a few other games for me

+1 Great perspective number dude. I try to always think that way, but every so often I catch myself forgetting to appreciate how good I actually have it.

I was considering an XBOX 360 with tax money but I think the Glock will give me longer enjoyment... I want it mostly just to have a gun and to have something to shoot... but also for that "just in case" factor of defending the home. We have .22s and whatnot but I want my OWN gun, you know?

If I get the raise that SHOULD be coming my way very shortly, then I may just use paycheck money to get the XBOX down the road.

Agreed. Big difference between needing and wanting.
These days I "needed" for very little. (knock on wood).

But "wanting" opens up a whole new world

Dear Santa:
Skip the world peace; that is a lost cause. Instead, and with far less effort, please drop off a TE310 on your way by. I'd sure lieke to play with one of these... You Da Man.
Thanks.

Well I had a FORMER friend flashing a stolen piece at me recently so that's one motivating factor... knowing that there are people who just dont' give a WHAT and would gladly take your life and their own without batting an eye...that's why I'll be going with the .40S&W rather than the 9mm... I'll pay 20 bucks more for a box of bullets for the bigger hole.

Glock and S&W MP are both very fine handguns. But if I had my choice, it would the Glock. It is a tad bit easier to take apart for cleaning. But the MP is little more comfortable to shoot with. To each, their own. So I gotta own both of them. But nothing beats the smile that a S&W 629 .44mag puts on my face.

As for XMAS/ tax refund. I think I already spent mine. Ranger got alloy wheels and new tires. Also new wheel bearing parts. Spent my 5year of service reward on a new PS3 for the family. I still have bullets on order from HSM. I'm practically broke until January.

Well then get the .45 ACP. I'm mighty found of my Sig Sauer P220, but I have to admit I've been looking at a G-23 lately.
