What Sell Price

What Sell Price
I have my two KLX 250" for sale in the classified section on this site and have only almost no interest -which I know is partially the economy.
But I wondered, what is a fair selling price for my 2007's -one with about 61 miles & stock and one lightly modified with about 250 miles and all of the stock parts included?
I also thought the offer to trade one or both of them for a Cavalier or Cobalt of about the same value would get some interest?
Thanks,
Glen

As for price, I don't know, but selling them on here might be tough because most of the people on here already have one. Are you listing it anywhere else? I have used Craigslist quite a bit. Works well, gets local buyers, which is good because they see it before they buy it, plus it's free to use. Little late in the season but putting them out by the street with a sign works well too. Good way to get buyers that weren't even thinking about buying. "OOOOO a shiny green street legal dirtbike, cool, I must have it"
Your sale might fare better in the sping, when the fever hits everybody.
Good luck

The sell price is never greater than what people are willing to pay. Check ebay and craigslist to see what the bikes are selling for. You're right that the economy is a key factor. I've seen two bike dealerships close their doors recently in my area. One has been around for 30 years or so. Unemployment is now over 10% which shrinks the pool of buyers.
When placing an add, highlight that the bike gets 70mpg which can give a potential buyer 'ammo' to use to get his nagging wifes approval
Motorcycles are seen as toys not neccessities which makes them a tough sell in todays market. On the bright side, maybe posting an add on craigslist in December could help. Christmas time is the best time to sell a bike in the off-season. Other than that you might want to do what Dan said and wait 'till the spring and put it on public display. Good luck.

Thanks
Hey guys, Thanks for the feedback.
I have put them on Craigs list and I think that my asking price is also in line with what I have seen on Ebay. I have an offer of $ 2,500.00 for the one with 53 miles, but there is no way I'd sell it for that little.

Sadly I think $2,500 might be pretty close to the max you'll get.. I don't think you can get over $3k for it in this economy
I had my 351 up for sale for about 4 months at $3,500, then down to $3,200... Not even one email.
I'll be keepin it

I've sold lots of stuff that most would say was worth nuthin, and probably rightfully so , but I still got good cash for them.
How much is a new klx now? He's got one with only 53 miles... an 07 no less not one of those 09's ......wait a second, is it not a sin to have less than 4k miles on an 07...well it should be.
Stick to your guns.....and list it on advrider.com

Agreed! Try selling your 08.5 Mazdaspeed 3 with 17k on it in this economy, harder than selling your bike!
