What performance numbers are you getting on your KLX250S
I used my GPS today to get some performance numbers on my bike. After about 10 runs the best 0-60 I could get is 9.9 seconds. As for top speed it just barely broke 80 mph.
I'm curious to the performance numbers for those of you who have done the big bore kit.

did you buy some cams or cut the base circle, something I've been wanting to do, and have a local guy that can do it. Also some solid face valves to bump the compression, did it with a honda, made pistons more affordable. kawasaki set the redline at 10500 on this motor, might as well spin it.

Yup, our little KLXs weren't built for speed! My SF has a pipe, jets, & Uni-filter. I am at ~1000m elevation. The best corrected top speed I can manage on flat is 75mph, although I have had it up to 85mph with the assistance of a hill! As for acceleration, I have never timed it but it will barely out run a Yaris so high-9s sounds about right!

I don't have any actual performance #'s but a big bore should shave a few seconds off that 0-60 time.
You might gain 5 mph with a big bore ( due to gearing ) but it cruises so much easier at high speeds. It is much more comfortable with a big bore.
Not too many dirt bikes are that fast. A Suzuki DR400 and DR650 don't have any higher top speed. A KLR650 can only go about 10 mph faster. Even a Yamaha WR250 can't go any faster. Only the high end KTM's and the likes can break the 100 mph barrier. Heck I rode a KLX450 and I could only get about 65 mph out of it.

Brien, I think the Big Bore will shave off about 3 seconds on your 0 to 60 time and not sure on the top speed because the bike gets some speed wobbles after about 90 mph.
