What oil to use for '07 KLX250s?

SE Class SAE 10W40, 10W50, 20W40, 20W50 depending on temperature.
Oil quantity w/filter is 1.5L (1.585 qts).
W/O filter 1.2L (1.27 qts) I've used all different brands and types of oil and to be honest I can't tell a hill of beans of a difference.

I'll guess i'm gonna keep using the Kawi oil in mine until warranty expires in 2012. If something went wrong with engine I dont them saying it was because I didnt use Kawi oil. After that, I'll be using the Motul 5100.

Well, I headed down to the local motorcycle store today and picked up two quarts of Motul 5100 10w40 and an oil filter. I plan on changing the oil tomorrow some time. Has anyone here noticed any difference performance-wise with their bikes after switching to Motul?

Also, is there a write-up on how to properly perform the oil change on this bike? I've tried searching but apparently my search skills suck, and I cannot find the darn owners manual.

any motorcycle oil that has JASO-MA certification is all you need. Buying expensive name brand oils is a huge waste of money. I realize most oil is name brand, but some oils such as Mobil1, Golden Spectro, Bel-Ray, and Motul etc. are a lot more expensive than say Castrol. All have the same certifications. I use Castrol Actev-o four-stroke semi-syn. It's like $6/quart.

I've performed oil changes on motorcycles before. I was asking for a KLX250s specific guide to help me so I don't somehow screw up on something silly.

I do appreciate the video suggestions, though.

I realize that it's all the same idea, but I was looking for a pictorial or detailed how-to for our specific bikes. I know I'm sounding stubborn, but I just like to make sure I get the 'full picture' before I tackle any task. :P

Wow Motul seems to be a favorite with most. I've been using Mobil 1 15W-50 gold cap. Other then the loud valve tapping noises when cold, the oil leaks around the cases, and the clutch slippage it's been working for me. Good thing I'm using Mobil 1 cause I don't like changing my oil so 5000 mile between changes works for me.

Holy crap, 5000 miles? I feel guilty if I go over 1500. Shifts start to get too clunky.

Until the previous change, I've been running Mobil1 TurboDiesel HD Truck 5w40. It doesn't have the "green" additives so no clutch slippage. This go-round I'm running the Shell Rotella-T in 15w-40.

As for how to do it, entirely straightforward. Undo the drainplug and let it drain, then undone the filter cover and remove it. The spring is on the INSIDE of the filter so be careful not to lose it. Make sure to line up the oil passages when you reinstall the filter and cover. I cheat and use a dab of grease to hold the spring into place. About a quart and a half of new oil. No bones about it, entirely straightforward.

Just don't run the engine to get the oil out of it (cough cough DEEJ)
