Question what oil to run... sooo many choices

just a quick question im wondering what oil most of you guys run in your bikes i want to go with full synthetic but whats a good brand of oil to use? and what viscosity? i wanted to get ams motorcycle oil but i cant afford that right now so whats my best alternative? i dont really want to spend any more than about 10 dollars per 1L bottle id even say im only hoping to pay maby 7 dollars per bottle im just looking for something thats good and wont affect my clutches in a bad way...

I use Rotella T 15w40. You can get a gallon for about $13 at Walmart. The synthetic costs more, but don't know the exact price. I decided to use this oil after some research. The folks on the KLR forum swear by the stuff. I seems to work, but I don't really have a basis for comparison.

I'll keep it simple, Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w-40 is what I use. I got it for $5 a quart, but it has gone up since then.

I like spectro 10/40 semi-sythetic. That's getting also getting pricey though. That rotella scares me and I can't trust that it'll be good for the same amount of miles as a regular motorcycle specfic oil. That's just me. If it works it works I'm just not gonna find out the hard way that it doesn't.

I'm using Motul for almost all my fluids. The 5100 semi-synth is great stuff for the engine/clutch.

+1

I think it has been running $8/qt. I read a long term oil protection study. Amsoil was #1 but Mobil 1 4T was a close second and you can find it at autoparts stores and walmart. If I am not mistaken the test was conducted by Amsoil...

I believe I'm running Motul 5100 10w40 and a K&N oil filter.

Valvoline 4Stroke for Wet Clutch. AutoZone ~$4 per quart.
I use it in my Quad, KLX and Cruiser.
Works great.

They are all about the same as long as it is formulated for Wet Clutch applications...
