Any good write ups of how to break it in after installing the 351 kit?

Treat it like a new bike, and take it easy for 100 miles or so,then change your oil and ride it like you stole it...

jhoff, since I'm not standing there looking at your wiring in person, I'll throw out a weird theory. Maybe the previous owner had some LED turn signals that he couldn't get to blink properly because of low voltage draw. Not knowing how to install a resistor or other measure to account for this, he left some incandescent bulbs inline to make it work. It would be outlandishly rube goldberg, but it would work. Then he would stick these bulbs in the rubber cover so they wouldn't be seen or get broken. When the bike was sold, perhaps he installed the OEM blinkers and left his creation tucked in the tool bag.

I broke mine in by idling it for about 10 mins, then driving it lightly for about 10 miles, then beating the ever loving crap out of it with 3rd gear hill climbs and about 50 miles of singletrack.

About 4k later and my cylinder walls and piston looked as smooth as the day I installed them, and the bike runs like a raped ape.

On the bulbs...maybe a bun warmer? Tool heater?

I think the LED situation seems most plausible, though.

I've always thought it was "Man, she runs like a RAPED DATE!"

Why would I rape an Ape? I could rape a date... and she would for sure run wildly away from me.... but an Ape might decide we are now bonded for life since I overtook her from behind and made my way upon her. I've tried to research this and for some reason only find reference of the raping of apes.... but very little info to substantiate my theory of the raped date. I still think that it was originally refered to as running like a raped date, but I think that over the years it was accidentally mistaken as being said RAPED APE and thus was forever perpetuated as such.

My bike runs like a raped date!
