What I/you did today on the bike

Skidplate
I used some spare heater core hose on mine. Used the washers and anti seize as well.
No issues and it takes a beating.
Ricochet, cycle rack, and highway dirt bike handguards makes the bike darn near indestructable.

Did you split the hose and wrap it around the frame tubes?

I installed my new Motech skid plate. It came with five rubber buttons to isolate the plate from the frame of the bike. I also swapped the factory stock rear shock spring with a new 6.6
spring. The YouTube video on adjusting the sag really helped out. I set both compression and damping about midway for each and have about 4-1/2" of preload from the middle of the upper shock eye to the top of the new spring. Geared up with my fat butt on the bike this gave me just over 2-1/2" of sag, which is close to the recommended 25% of sag.
Finished off by installing the rear rack to carry the essentials....beer, chips, etc. Took the bike for a short ride and did not notice any additional noise or vibration after installing the new skid plate.

Just regular old polishing compound. I think they're all the same. My problem is my buffer i too heavy to hold with one hand. Going to get a smaller one with a wool pad today. Maybe try my mini dremel one?
