What I/you did today on the bike

My Magna is back running well and the klx was lonely so I just spooned on a new front IRC RX01 stock spec tire. The old one was likely the original dated 2008 with a couple thousand miles of tread left but the rubber was hard and grip unacceptable where I could skid the front tire on clean dry asphalt using only two fingers on the lever making wonder how much of my grip budget I am using in curves. Hell, I am on the second rear tire and it is at the wear bars, might as well pony up for that now. Tomorrow we'll be spooning a new front tire on Maggie. It's 5 years old with less than 2000 miles on it but it skids easy too. I wonder how I survived until now not knowing old tires were asking for a crash.

Managed to take 2 bad wheels and make one good one.
Used a spoke kit for a KDX wheel. I had to drill out the spoke holes to use the nipples that came with the kit.
Re-lace took about 45 minutes and another 45 for tightening and truing.
Put a double layer of Gorilla tape on as a rim strip, mounted a tire, and went for a test ride.
75 miles later, I jacked up the bike and rechecked spoke tension.

Found a nifty spot under the seat in front of the airbox for a small storage bag, i keep a CO2 inflator in there and a few co2 cartriges. I think the bag is a little accessory bag i got off an otterbox case for an iPad. Hey it got some more stuff put of my backpack. Im happy, you could probably fit a spark plug andba fuse or two in there also

Probably nothing would be my guess.... the "hook" for the seat goes right there and the bottom of the seat almost seals off the front of the airbox anyway, plus there is a big piece of frame and shock there already.
Maybe if there was some of "ram air" effect that may have been happening then maybe, but i doubt it, if anything it probably blocks some hot air coming off the engine from going into the airbox.
I guess the airbox gets its air from the space between the top of the box and the bottom of the seat (pretty terrible design IMO), which this bag doesnt affect, so I dont think it would affect flow rate through the filter at all but i dunno...

Removed the clutch cable guide above the radiator hose and removed the metal bracket in front of the rear shock holding down the vent hoses. Didn't see the point of having them so they were removed
