You might want to check the intake gaskets on that thing, and while you're at at check the intake tube for cracks. Just some advice from a Mazda tech. Good luck.

 

Sweet, a Mazda tech. How come 2.3L DISI (speed3&6) motors pop so often? Unfair question, I know lol. If only they were as buildable and reliable as team green motors...

 

Yeah I'll have to check those out, my car sounds like it has a blow off valve out of first and sometimes second gear, its probably just the intake. I'll have to see if the clamps are loose or something. Thanks!

 

Woah, sorry it's been a while. Heres the thing about the DISI engines...I've never had one "pop". I have been the only Mazda master tech at my dealer for a few years and haven't had to do one yet. Only one turbo too, suprisingly. We really don't see any modded out very much tho. You really can't expect much more out of these things than they come with. 273 Hp out of a stock 4 cylinder isn't too bad
On a side note, I'm also a dual certified Ford tech and the new Ecoboost twin turbo cars are killer.

 

Twin turbo SHO rocks. I spend plenty of time on mazdaspeedforums, and a turbo regular 3 motor can produce more HP than a built speed without popping. My car is stock, unlike my bikes lol. It's for sale too...
