We went out and did another part of that montour trail yesterday....there is a 970' bridge that was pretty cool. I think we rode 16 or 17 miles.

used to race mountain bikes - even tried my hand at hand making a custom carbon fiber/kevlar bike frame. good times. then i moved to a flat area and it lost its enjoyment factor.
oh and for the poor balding fellow. i'm 26 and going grey .

This post made me dig up some old pictures of when I use to eat, sleep, and breath mountain bikes fiveor sixyears ago...even worked at a bike shop. Here are some pics...
This was way back when people thought I was crazy for putting a suspension fork with five inches of travel on a hardtail XC frame lol...
Playing in a pit
Bit of air...
I just kind of stopped riding my last year of college, still have a bike but I never ride anymore. I always say I'm going to start again, just can't seem to get my lazy butt back on it. It was awesome exercise, certainly wouldn't have the gut I do know if hadn't stopped lol.

yeah - i was one of the few that competed with a hardtail. i preffered it because it gave me more control and more power going uphills

its a part of one of the rails to trails, it was an old railroad bridge... those trails would be boring on the klx.... all flat.... but nice relaxing ride on the trek......

Sold my Specialized M4 S-Works to help pay for my KLX. Been riding mountain bikes in competitions including the Cactus Cup for 15 years - I'll miss it, but for now my motorcycles will fill the void. These days it's rock climbing at Joshua Tree, Yosemite and locally, backpacking in the Grand Canyon, sea kayaking in Glacier Bay Alaska and Baja (La Paz) Mexico but my KLX250 and KLR650 keep the fun meter pegged!
