RE: What to do with old tires...
I plan on making a set of snow tires out of my old set...a friend of mine studded his 3-wheeler tires with short sheet-metal screws..worked awesome..I followed him home one nite from ice fishing (i had new studs on the car) and he was on the 3-wheeler..it had started raining and the dirt road turned to a sheet of ice..I couldn't even keep him in sight..his 3-wheeler was a 185cc Honda..most I could do (and maintain control of the car) was 30 MPH.

Luckily where I live the garbage man will accept up to four dis-mounted car tires per week with your regular garbage along with most anything else you want to put out for no charge. So bike tires are not a problem.

Use a sawzall or something similar and cut the tire into 2 or 4 pieces and put a piece in a garbage bag,
-and in a bag or three voila your tire is gone.
I do it with tractor tires cut them into 2 foot pieces fold them in half and then there gone. Most places want a dollar a (rim) inch to get rid of them so 40 inch rim 40 bucks a piece at least the math is easy....

As much fun as all that would be EMS, if you want drop them off at my house and I'll take them to work. We have a big compactor that smashes everything! That's where all my tires, couches, pallets and anything else I can find that the garbage guy won't take. About ready to winter clean the garage anyway.
