Wharton State Forest, Is It Snow Free?
#11
The woods look rideable to me...some ice\snow patches but long stretches of nothing. Fresh *****, maybe a click or two on the compression and you're ok. The dirt roads are icy as the 4 wheelers compressed the snow and made it ice....who rides dirt roads anyway?

Save the bags you get bread in and wear them over your socks. Feet stay dry and warm. Still helps to avoid the puddles.

This is something i've often wondered about,,,, If you bag your feet over socks,, do you sweat inside the bag and get cold feet anyway??? I have never tried it but think you would sweat with plastic bags over your socks.

Yes, your feet do sweat in the plastic bags. If you wear wool socks inside the bags your feet will stay somewhat warm as wool will keep you warm even when wet. The plastic bags will prevent the wind chill factor.

Your feet will sweat in relation to what you're doing. If you're spending the day hooking up woods sections then they sweat a decent amount. When I wore them on 2 day dual sports, they didn't. I've never had them get cold even after a rigorous workout in a long tight section...I'd get back to the truck and the socks would be damp and that's the only time they got cold. If I got water in the boots, my feet would warm up the water where it would be comfortable, temps wise, and the water would eventually go away somewhat. For me, it was much better with the bags than without.
