West Oz ride report
Hit the trails last Sunday.
Top day.
The tracks are great after a few days rain but no rain on the day.
I bit of water is always good for a laugh.
For the locals we basically did a loop around Mt Dale.
Some very steep hills in this area.
This shot gives a bit of perspective.
I took the shot looking back at where we had just been.
Doug on the DRZ didn't make it giving me time to get the camera out just after he picked it up.
A lot of trails like this.
Not all went to plan.
This was the ride I did with no cooling fan.
I'm too busy on the real tight trails to remember to get pics.
One track in particular, we call it Smithy, is very tight with lots of logs.
Some logs very recently cut down and it looked they were deliberately placed across the track.
Maybe someone doesn't want bikes around there.
There are some faster flowing trails around here as well with a lot of pea gravel which certainly focuses the mind.
We will most likely head back to this area next time out as there a few tracks that look good that we didn't have the time to check out.

He believes it was done deliberately which is a bit odd.
I've never had a flat tyre and i only run around 11psi front and rear.
I do use super heavy duty tubes.
I carry tube, tyre levers, pump and pressure gauge.
He, Doug, carries non of those things and he gets the flat tyre.

RE:
I guess the KLX's didn't like having some yellow around, SABOTAGE either that or he's had a fight with the mrs before leaving...
Last ride I ran 16 in the front, last time I ran 12 and ended up with a ding in my rim, not to bad but noticeable.
Cheers
Chris

We had ridden quite away before we noticed it flat and you could see where it had been rubbing on the tube before it finally pierced it.
The bit was right in the middle of the tyre and straight in.
It just didn't look like an accident.
But Doug seemed to know who it might be so I'd say he's having some social conflict in his life.

We are not nearly has hampered as you in regards to getting a ride in. (no kids)
Just pm me when you can make it and I'm more than likely good to go.
This time of year, we are heading out every 2nd week or so.
Trying to take advantage of the weather before it gets too hot.

4 rides a year?
I don't think I could cope.
