I needed to head down south on the weekend to do some work.

Every cloud has a silver lining.....

We loaded up the bikes and hit the tracks around Wellington Dam which is about 2.5 hours drive south of Perth.

Ahhh the serenity.......


Ok maybe not.....


That mud was a lot stickier than it looks.
But it could have worse...........It could have been me!

As it turned out, it took both of us to get it out.

Some of the tracks were quite a challenge.


Just prior to this spot, i managed to lose control and flip, breaking the rear guard.
The bike ended up in the bushs off the track and after picking it up it ended up here.


We followed this track for quite a while before it just petered out into nothing.


Finally a spot to rest and recharge.


All in all a good day on some good tracks.

Lots of it as well.
I made it through but when I turned around Rob had lost the front end and was lying in it.
After I stopped laughing I remembered the camera.
Look at his side. He is covered in it.
And that was very early in the day.

 

Maybe I should give this "mud" that you speak of..a chance.[8D]

Yea I said that in between the 4th and 5th cup of coffee, I guess I wasn't awake yet, now I am so never mind.[8D]

I have always wanted to check Perth out........maybe one day I will get over there. Nice report btw, I guess it will be your turn for the mud session next time

Looks like you had fun Neil.
Been there a few times on the MTB. Great trails and a great overnight camp spot.
Might need the P3 tip in my 2 Brothers if I head down there!
Any complaints about the Big Gun?
