Weekend Ride Report
I wanted to get a good ride in this weekend as I didn't touch the bike at all the previous weekend. I was hoping my new back tire would be in at the local shop but I guess the K760 is on back order, sonow theplan is tostick to the road as my back tire was getting pretty smooth. I hit the road early at 7:30am and headed for the Sussex, NB,which is a nice 70 kilometer back country road each way. It was early and a little chilly, but it made for a really nice ride.
First stop was to top off the tank. One of the pumps was ripped off it's base and the pump handle had been cutoff...looks like someone tried to steal some gas. This is in the village of St. Martins.
Left the pumps and hit the road. This is one of the few boring straights leading into a good sized hill...
This pic turned out pretty dark, did I mention it was early lol. A radio tower of some sort...
Nice lake along the way, made for some nice pics. I really need to get a new camera.
Turned around and snaped a pic of the bike...
Remember how I said I planned on sticking to the road, well we all know what happens when we nice a looking dirt road along the way...Hmmmm I wonder whats down there lol
Well there was a farm house, then a narrow road leading away from it that eventually turned into a trail.
Where it turn into a trail...
A close up of why I wasn't doing any serious off road today.
The trail took me to the ATV clubs winter warming shack. I had been to this shack last winter from the other side of the trail. Still had the windows in it last year thou! These are great in the winter, on just about any weekend during the winter there is already a nice warm fire going from other riders who passed thru...
But not so great with broken windows, no respect!
Woodstove inside...
Ok, out of the woods and back on the road. A sharp turn leading into a....
bridge...
Looking off the bridge
And under the bridge
Back on the road
Off the main road there is another steel bridge that crosses the water further up stream. This is a big party place during the summer.
Looking down from off side the bridge. I wish my camera was good enough to capture it, but I could see some good size fish in the water from where I was standing.
Remember what I said about no off road today lol, this is the trail leading from up from under the bridge. The pic doesn't show it well but it was a good sized step up...
Left the bridge and back onto the road. You can see the coastal fog I left behind. It was starting to get warm out...
Made it to the town of Sussex and stopped off for a coffee...
I sat outside on the porch of a little produce stand and drank my coffee enjoying the beautiful morning. I heard a noise behind me as an older lady was setting up shop for the day. She must have been 80 years old lol, I asked her if she needed a hand and of course she said no but I went to help anyway. She asked me if I knew how to work one of theses as she points to the pallet jack and about 5 or pallets of produce. I said sure and proceed to move them all outside for her...she put me to work lol.
I left town after my hard morning of work lol and headed to the outskirts of town. Found my way back into the woods and climbed up along a good sized hill for a nice view.
Bike on the side of the hill.
Another shot of the view and the farms below. I still think those farmers have weapons of mass destruction in those silos.
Headed back into town for gas
And then I headed for home, it was a great ride.
