Default Weekend Ride Pics 6/21

Well I was a little Ponce De Leon Yesterday. Discovered some new trails and a saw some new things. Got in about 75 miles of riding on and around the mountain right behind town in middle Maryland. So here's some pics.

Youngest son, way too young to come along...

The area resembles the forest moon Endor from Return of the Jedi only without the dawn redwood size trees. Very lush and beautiful.

Heres a few little video clips.

The first is of a Timber Rattlesnake. It was hit by a car but I was investigating if it was still alive. I was expecting it to jump at me at any second. I had a close encounter with one of these things last year and they scare the crap out of me.

Next, heres a stream and vegetation to give you an idea of the setting.

And last, I'm just goofing around. Here's a clip fron the gravel road out of "Endor". I have no helmet cam so I just held the camera with one hand and rode with the other.

can you actually see anything with those mirrors or are they for the cops?
where did you get them what did you have to modify?

I have 'em too. You can see out back but you gotta move your arm. No way they will pass an inspection. I got them off someone here. I think they were $45 for the pair. Not sure though and can't remember who got them for me.

The mirrors take alot of getting used to. You can see to the left and right rear but not directly behind you. I love 'em! They look tons better than stock and cut down on highway drag. I was pulled over last weekend with my son on the back of the bike and the cop said he was pulling us over because the passenger has to have foot pegs. I then showed him the foot pegs and he sent us on our way. He saw the mirrors and didn't gripe about them. That makes it twice I've been pulled over with the dual star mirrors and the cop didn't object. The cops in my area are way cool though so who knows.

Here's a link to the mirrors:
