Which way to mount sprocket

On the front sprocket, which side faces out? The side you will see when it's on the bike?

The flat side faces out! The spacer ring goes against the motor.

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I'm going on a hunt at the local bike shops for a 13 tooth tomorrow.
